Therapeutic Approach with Children
Incorporating play when working with younger children is essential. Play allows them to process conflicts and life experiences in the same way an adult might talk through a problem. Through play, children can work through trauma, gain insight into family dynamics, and explore their sense of self within the safe, semi-removed space of their imagination. When appropriate, I integrate elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to teach regulation and coping skills, helping children better manage and express their emotions.
Therapeutic Approach with Teens
When working with teens, I approach therapy from a psychodynamic framework to help clients enhance their quality of life. I do this by supporting them in gaining a deeper understanding of their thoughts and emotions. I come to each session without an agenda, allowing clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and past experiences at their own pace. We walk this path together and I follow their lead. I recognize that some topics can be difficult to discuss, and we will approach them only when, and if, the client feels ready.
Therapeutic Approach with Adults
When working with adults, I draw from both psychodynamic and humanistic approaches to help clients enhance their confidence, happiness, and overall quality of life. Therapy is a collaborative process, and together we will identify clear goals for treatment and work toward them as a team. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you can process whatever you need to. I understand that discussing difficult topics can be uncomfortable, and I respect the pace at which you choose to move through them.
Parent Coaching and support
I love working with parents! Parenting can be incredibly hard and overwhelming. When we become parents, the only model we often have is our own upbringing. Sometimes, we don’t want to repeat aspects of our own experiences but struggle to know how to make the changes we wish we’d had. In our work together, we’ll address your major concerns and explore strategies for managing them effectively. I may invite you to reflect on your own childhood—how your parents raised you, what you appreciated or disliked about their style, and how you’d like to approach things differently. Together, we’ll work toward helping you become the best parent you can be and feel confident in raising your children.
